"Can I trust my dermatologist?"

"Is my acne caused by genetics?"
"Why can some people eat like crap yet still enjoy beautiful skin?"

Get the answers to these and more in today’s issue of your newsletter.

First let me preface this issue by making it completely clear…

…The last thing I want from my subscribers is a bunch of "yes people". Meaning, believing everything I say without thinking about it. That’s not what I’m all about. That’s not what I promote. Let me say it again.

Don’t believe a word I say.

Weight it in the balance, test it and prove it to yourself.

With that understanding I thought you’d be interested in a forum member who "called the premise of the program to task".

From a forum member.

hi all.  i just got back from the dermatologist, and had an interesting discussion w/ him about causes of acne, and also treatments like chemical peels and smoothbeam laser.

he said there are some main causes of acne, mainly, acne bacteria, slow cell turn-over rate (which he explained as your skin’s inability to remove old skin cells, which in turn clogs your pores), hormones, and HEREDITY.

now, i have a qs–and it involves the validity of Leo’s program.  LEO, please respond to this.

first of all, i DEFINATELY had acne in my family.  My mother and that whole side of my family, basically all have horrible skin.  bad acne scarring.  so for me, i definitely think genetics has something to do w/ my problem.  BUT WHAT AND WHERE IS IT AFFECTING ME?  like, did i inherit, overactive sebaceous glands?  did i inherit bad skin in general?  did i inherit, what i dont know.

why is it that most people can eat however they like and not exercise, etc, etc, and still have beautiful skin?  i MUST be genetics.

i just don’t understand it.
can anyone shed some more light on this?  how does heredity factor in?

Here’s my response…

First off let me give you something that will save you years of frustration.  Learn from the "doers" not the teachers, not the theorists, but from those that have actually done it.  That applies to just about anything you want to learn about.

The more someone is indoctrinated in any one way of thinking (ie. Formal education), the less likely they will be able to think from outside their little box.

No answers that you don’t already know about are found in the "boxes" of formal education!!!!

This is why major breakthroughs nearly always come from someone outside the field. (And why it is nearly always violently opposed for years by formal education.)

If you’ve been indoctrinated by formal education well, that’s a challenge you’re going to have to get over (I say that only in half jest).

I can tell you I’ve been to plenty of dermatologists.  And I can tell you they don’t have a clue.  Your dermatologist was simply parroting his little box that he was indoctrinated in.  Now I’m not claiming to be any smarter!  The only difference is I passionately pursued the answer to my own acne problem in any way shape or form that showed any kind of merit.  I did not limit myself to any one "box" of thinking.  And was lucky enough to put all the pieces together…

O.k. to address your questions, all those things your dermatologist pointed to as "acne causes" are only SYMPTOMS!

Please get what I’m about to tell you…

When your body is working the way it was designed to internally it is impossible for you to have acne.  Acne is only an external symptom to an INTERNAL problem.  And that problem always, always, always boils down to the blood and the hormones.  If you don’t buy into that basic premise then you are in the wrong place.

To address your questions regarding the role of genetics…

Imagine I have a chain with links.  Some links are obviously going to be weaker then others.  Well if I put that chain under enough tension it’s going to break at its weakest link.

Well, think of that chain as your genetic makeup.  Your "chain" won’t break (genetic tendencies toward acne or any other disease) won’t manifest unless you put that chain under stress.

So in other words, it’s not your genetics that are the problem, it’s the stressors on the internal systems that are!  Remove those stressors and strengthen the organs responsible for purifying the blood and congegating/expelling hormones and the problem corrects itself.

If you still suffer from acne then you simply haven’t done this yet…It’s that simple.  That’s always, always what it boils down to.  Refined feedback mechanisms will quickly tell you exactly what those stressors are or where the problem lies.  But the end results will always be problems with the blood and hormones.

Bacteria, excess skin oil, "overactive sebum glands"…those are all just symptoms that resulted from internal problems.
